Out of the Hat is a whirlwind theatrical adventure where writers, directors, and actors collaborate in a 24-hour frenzy. With chaos as their muse, five creative teams embark on a wild journey, crafting and staging five unique shows. Expect the unexpected as their missteps, surprises, and comedic mishaps unfold. Will they triumph or stumble? Brace yourself for the theatrical rollercoaster that answers the question: What could go wrong?!

Good Elves Gone Bad

Good Elves Gone Bad is where the elves of Santa's workshop have been making traditional toys for Christmas after Christmas. After the regulations have been changed so many times, they begin to wonder why they're slaving away in a workshop and not out having a holiday.

SEPTEMBER

Present Laughter

Present Laughter depicts a few days in the life of actor Garry Essendine fending off women who want to seduce him, appease his secretary and his wife, cope with a frenzied young playwright, and overcome his mid life crisis, recently turning 40, as he prepares to tour Africa.

Brigadoon

Brigadoon features two American tourists who stumble upon Brigadoon, a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years. Tommy, one of the tourists, falls in love with Fiona, a young woman from Brigadoon, but their love could cause the town and all of its inhabitants to vanish forever.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf centers around the complexities of the marriage of middle aged couple Martha and George as they air intimate details of their lives with another much younger couple Nick and Honey. Over the course of the evening, much is revealed, both good and bad. *This performance is recommended for those 16+ due to adult content and language.

Mystery Dinner Theater

Immerse yourself in "A Night of Deception," an intriguing Mystery Dinner Theater experience. Amidst a delectable feast, a mysterious crime unfolds, leaving everyone entangled in a web of suspicion. Uncover hidden motives, follow twisted clues, and interact with the cast to unravel the enigma. As secrets unravel and alliances shift, sharpen your detective skills to expose the cunning culprit before dessert's served. Get ready for a night of suspense, delicious food, and immersive entertainment that will keep you guessing until the last bite!

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland follows the antics of a young girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world inhabited by a Cheshire Cat who mysteriously disappears, a white rabbit who is always late, a Mad Hatter having a tea party, a Queen of Hearts who threatens to “take off her head”, and other fantastic, imaginative creatures.

Sweet Delilah Swim Club

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club tells the story of five members of a college swim team who get together at a cottage every year for a weekend in August to reminisce about old times and touch base about the changes that happened in their lives over the past year.

Theater Camp 2024

Bemidji Community Theater pairs with Bemidji City Parks and Recreation's summer programming to provide an opportunity for young people ages 8 to 16 to experience performing arts in a very personal way. BCT Jr. differs from other theater camps in its diverse format, designed as a progressive stagecraft experience.

Agatha Christie's A Murder Is Announced

A Murder is Announced, a mystery by Agatha Christie, features Miss Marple as she tries to uncover a who done it for a murder announced in the evening gazette of the fictional town of Chipping Cleghorn. Intrigue, suspense, and murder afoul abound in this classic tale.

Bemidji Community Theater's season usually includes five shows varying from comedies to mysteries to tragedies to children's theater. A board of directors determines the year's theater season based on input from members, availability of a venue, the political climate, and past seasons.
